Growing up, i had different nannies each with her own personality (sadly, we did not have a mannie) both good and bad. Some i loved and some my spirit just never accepted (looking back i don't think they were bad, but i just did not get along with them).
I remember Auntie Sophia, she was such a beautiful woman and extremely hardworking - my mum especially loved her because she worked with very little supervision. She has a passion for farming (at least i think so). She discovered a pawpaw tree that we did not care of in our garden, she somehow knew what to do and in a few months, we had pawpaw! Oh! The joy of waking up every morning to see Auntie Sophie has washed and cut pawpaw for us! I ate so much pawpaw eh!! To my mother no need to spend money to include fruit in our diet! Thank goodness!
Sometimes today, when i see pawpaw at a fruit stand, i remember Auntie Sophie and i smile. My farmer Nanny!
I believe that almost everyone has had a Nanny Experience - now, don't limit yourself, let's really think about this. We all fall into at least one of these brackets:
1. Your parents had a caregiver (professional or not) to watch over you sometimes
2. Your parents had relatives around to help them out and they took care of you
3. You have at some point employed a caregiver for your children
Some of us have been in all 3 of the above, some only one. So, we have all had a Nanny Experience. I cannot wait to read yours.
